Jayco lift system

My 2001 jayco eagle... when I go to close it. it goes down just fine Until the last 2 0r 3 inches then I have to pull it down by hand to latch it what causes this .. can you send me a manual or something of the lift system

The roof weight is the ONLY means of lowering the roof with a cable winch system. Try the following general procedure to lower your roof to a closed position:
1) Stop the lowering function when the roof has dropped approximately 2/3 of the closing distance.
2) Make a trip around the camper and make sure that the canvas sides and ends are folded INTO the camper body.
3) Complete the lowering to the closed position. NOTE: the roof should easily close to within approximately 2"
4) Open the latch and pull the roof down with 1 hand and hook the latch in position and finish compressing the canvas
5) Use the same procedure for the remaining 3 latches.

We have not found any "fold down" camper that will close completely without using the above procedure.

Thank you for contacting Customer Cylinders International, Inc., the home of the ROOF JENIE hydraulic roof lift system, and the SOCKET JENIE that eliminates the effort to raise the roof quickly.
